Simple. 1/4 stick of dynamite = lots of fish. Must have a net, though.

Dynamite...the only thing I've yet to try since moving to Michigan. I've caught fish when living in CT,NC,TN,ID,KY, and WA, but in the 5 years I've lived here in MI, I haven't caught a thing. As a matter of fact, my semi-annual fishing trip will now be a camping/hiking/paddling trip. Sorry for the rant...nothing beats the ol' nightcrawler for large or smallmouth.

Did a lot of fishing with my kids when they were younger. Getting back into it with my grandkids now. Always had a lot of fun catching bass, most often on rubber worms of varying colors. Ate a few, but didn't much care for them. Always seemed to taste muddy, or be mushy.
An old-timer at work gave my his recipe for bass. He told me to clean a 10" -12" bass, leaving on the head & tail. Place a piece of kielbasa (Polish sausage) in the body cavity, and wrap the fish with a couple of slices of bacon. Place it in a 350 deg. oven for about 15 -20 min.. Take it out, unwrap the bacon and remove the kielbasa. Then throw the fish away and eat the meat.
All skill and effort is to no avail when an angel pees down your drones.

Take your rod and reel to your local supermarket. Cheaper than spending $100,000 on one of those 300hp bassboats.

    And always wear your pfd.

I have bass in the freezer. Got them out of my pond using minnows.

My best luck has been at sunset using top water lures. Floating Rapalas, Hula Poppers, Flatfish - lures that make noise. Use a slow retreive. Crank and stop, crank and stop.

A nightcrawler pulled behind a torpedo bobber can work too.

    Good luck.
