I've ridden a motorcycle kilted once, and it was just for a few blocks around the neighbourhood. I was taking the bike for a test ride, and happened to be in my Utilikilt at the time. It was very difficult keeping the front apron tucked under me at low speeds, I can't imagine how difficult it would be at higher speeds.
While I don't always wear all the proper gear every time I get on the bike, I won't ride with anything less than jeans or my work pants on.
Canadian_Kilt...what do you have for a ride?

I've also been around the neighborhood in my old Utilikilt once on the bike: I had no difficulty keeping the apron tucked under my legs (I was riding my CBR1100XX), but the pleats in back caught the breeze and flipped up onto my back. Suddenly, all my neighbors knew whether or not I dressed "regimental" that day...
Bryan...I wouldn't recommend the idea-change at school, eh?

may be as dumb a reason for doing something dangerous on a bike as there can be. I don't mean any offence, and you are by no means the first person to want to something because it looks cool. However there are plenty of guys pushing up weeds right now because they tried to do something that "looked cool" on a bike.
If you go down you will have no protection and if the kilt flies up you will be distracted...my advice get a good set of leathers. They look cool too.

What Chef said! I rode my bike just once to the gas station wearing my UK workman and the thoughts of roadrash had me shaking all the way home. You should always be a little "fearful" when riding a motorcycle and to be thinking about your appearance is a distraction that is no one needs. Always wear your protective gear, because all riders either have dumped, or will dump their bikes.

I am in the motorcycle business and have been for many years. Do as you please, but expect trouble. I would never try riding in a kilt. I always hear storys of people going down and getting hurt for no good reason. Bring the kilt with and change at school. Good luck!

Clan Young of Milwaukee (the most active Clan in Wisconsin) always rides their Harleys (made in good ol' Milwaukee!) during parades. Sometimes they'll even ride their Harleys right up to their tent at the Highland Games.
What is even better is that Clan Young's motto is "We Ride". How fitting!

I can't imagine riding a horse in a kilt being comfortable in any way.

I used to ride my BSA with sidecar in whatever I happened to have on at the time, but that was long ago.
These days - on a solo machine - take the kilt in a roll and wear the best leathers, boots, gloves and helmet you can afford.
