Lightbulb Your Post May Change The World~a must see!

This is an email I wrote to "Scotland On TV" and their wonderful response...SO POST HERE WHAT YOU WOULD LIKE TO SEE ON TV ABOUT KILTS AND YOU MAY GET YOUR WISH!!!

    MY EMAIL:

The newest show about kilts was S math sin! Thanks for that.
I sent out an email to all the guys on the the kilt forum
"xmarksthescot.com" and they were appreciative as well.

Will there be any more production, say on "kilt making"
"kilt wearing" etc...??? I agree with Howie that it is
important to keep the kilt alive and inform more people
about its proper place in society today.

    Yours in pleats,
    Slainte mhor!

    SCOTLAND ON TV REPLY:

"Jonathan - our eyes have been opened!

We certainly plan to make more programming about kilts. I've been in and out of your forum over the last week or so and like the way you guys are so passionate about kilts!

Would love it if you'd let us know more about what you'd most like to see about kilts - why not start a thread and see what the members think? Or would you let us get into dialogue about what we might film next?"

    best

    Helen

    A few suggestions

It sounds as if a friendly media source may be willing to do some good work. Hopefully no "dorky duds", no sit-com silliness, nor mocking for ratings.

Here are a few of my suggestions:

    1) A fashion show starring Hamish and his Kilt Kollection. We, and the world, would get to see the Kollection in a professionally done manner. He may also appreciate a file copy of the program.

    2) Interviews with various suppliers of kilts (large businesses, smaller shops, and individual kiltmakers), and video tours of their establishments.

    3) Features on suppliers of kilt accessories, from the component pieces to the finished products.

    4) Oddball sources - where to find kilt belt "hook thingies", cantles for sporrans, stag antlers and bog oak for knife handles - you know, the odd items that seem to be needed only in the kilted universe.

    5) Man-on-the-street and "candid camera" overviews of kiltwearing in the real world; the cheers and jeers, the entire range of activities undertaken by kilt-wearers and, tastefully done, things NOT to do in a kilt. Humor is OK, just not derision.

Many of us ex-patriot (many generations removed) will be attending the gathering at Hamish's house in June of '08. I for one will include an extensive visit to Scotland.

it would be great to see something about how a kilt, sporran, sgian dubh, etc are made and the work that goes into them. also try to show some material on kilt nights or outings, maybe some great places to go while kilted.

I'd like to see something about this global phenomenon of the resurgence of the kilt as everyday wear.

    Well done, Jonathan!

No such series would be complete without a show that includes how Scottish heritage is is celebrated in other parts of the world.

Also, a few vignettes from highland games around the country, and a visit to the Scottish Tartans Museum.

Where 4 Scotsmen gather there'll usually be a fifth.

There should be something about how kilts have evolved: solid color kilts, velcro closures, new materials (PV, Acryllic, Cotton, etc...), new tartans representing US states, Military branches, cooperations, etc...

At the risk of sounding "self serving", how about "kiltmakers around the world"? How about covering companies in North America that make their special brands of kilts (in house) to show how the "kilt phenomenon" has caught on around the world? Utilikilts, R Kilts, Freedomkilts, Amerikilts, USA Kilts, Canadian Casual kilts, etc...
