No pics, so I can't tell. The other sites have Crail jackets, but they are not the 3 button thing I see at Scottishkilts.net, which is what I really want.
Does anyone have one of these?

I missed the tree button part.
I regularly order everything from bike and auto parts to kilt wear etc. from the UK and I have no problems. The worst that ever happened was a delay of a week for customs.

Chec with Steve from Freedom Kilts and see how far along he is in designing and making his "Kilt Sportcoat".

Gotta like a man who knows what he wants. I agree. Don't settle.
I also like that very same jacket/vest combination. So I ordered one. What I received was a jacket with one button (like Colin's), with epaulet (which don't show in the photo, and which I didn't want), that was cut differently (longer lapels, different lines for the lower front), and with a lining made of beautiful material that was fully two inches too small in width and breadth for the jacket outer shell (which was cut unevenly).
So when I put the jacket on it curled up in the back like a duck's tail. Not bad for $400 bucks, no?

If a reputable business person like Steve were to produce a jacket/waistcoat like this, I'd stand in line to buy one. I have still not found a merchant that sells exactly what's pictured (that actually fits, is reasonably well constructed, etc., etc.).

That is what I want.
I also contacted John at jhiggins.net to ask about it.
Please drop him an email and ask if he will make one like this. I told him there would be other interested parties!
No, I'm not giving up. How hard can it be?!

Actually a well fitting and tailored sport coat is more complicated than a kilt.
Please see my posts in the Freedom Kilts section about the jacket I am working on. I too want exactly what you guys are asking for. No epalletes no silver buttons, no scalloped pocket flaps or big monster cuff details. Just a good quality sport coat. but cut for a kilt.
and BTW a "Wallace Jacket" has scalloped pocket flaps and big cuffs. I have one. Really nice jacket but not what I thought I was ordering.

If you were to break down and buy overseas, don't think there's a more trusted tailor than Geoffrey (Tailor). They offer a wide assortment of kilt jackets in stock sizes or made to measure in a wide assortment of materials.

The customer service is tops. I'm sure if you emailed Howie Nicholsby the photo he'd tell you if he could do it. howie@21stcenturykilts.com
They are tailors awash in things Scottish.

FWIW I ordered my tweed Crail jacket from the kiltstore.net people. It was moved from Edinburgh to my doorstep in Michigan within 2 days. Of course I payed an exorbitant shipping rate (my choice @ ~$50USD), and had to fax Fed-Ex Trade Networks a silly "Homeland Security" form . In fact, it would have been overnight except for this stupid form.
BUT the jacket is exactly as pictured on the site. Fit wasn't bad, just had to have the cuffs taken up half an inch. This is FWIW and YMMV.

The 21st Century jacket looks very nice, but at 310 British pounds, I can only say "yikes!" and wish it was made here in the US.
