Colin, sorry to hear about your disappointment with the kilt. I want to congratulate you on your one-year non-smoking anniversary though. Good on ya!

I wanted to post a quick update here. After making that last post I decided to e-mail sk.net again. This morning I had a response in my inbox letting me know I'll be receiving a 10% credit for the mixup. I think he must have missed my last e-mail as he has always responded immediately in the past. I should have tried again sooner but the last couple weeks have been a wee busy as you can imagine. As far as this purchase is concerned I am totally satisfied with the outcome.

Cossack' is right in that how a company handles mistakes is extremely important. However so is their likelyhood of making them in the first place. I still don't think I'd buy a kilt or jacket from them unless it was a REALLY good deal, but I would buy accessories.

Colin I have an individual's e-mail address at scottishkilts.net that has always been extremely responsive. I can PM it to you if you like.

Thanks very much for the kind offer Canadian_kilt.

I have been dealing with these guys for a number of years now and have the email addresses of a few contacts. I appreciate your offer and interest in seeing this issue resolved.

I had an email in my inbox when I logged on this morning, and the matter is already being looked into. Given the amount of stuff I have bought from them in the past two years, and the great customer service I have always received, I am sure the matter will end well (or I will post all about it here ).

Don't rule out buying a kilt or jacket from this company. I have a premium (handsewn) 8 yard kilt from them and it is awesome. While the 5 yard was a screw up, it is still a nicely made kilt and I would still highly recommend the kilts. I have had their charcoal tweed argyle jacket and waistcoat and have worn it numerous times with many positive comments.

Well see what the next step is.

These whole situation has really put me in a foul mood. The kilt and flashes have now been mailed back to Scotland (03/22/07) and the company is awaiting it's delivery. Unfortunately it was sent Canada Post, so it could be weeks still

Once the kilt arrives back at Scottishkilts.net, they are going to look it over and see if there really was an mistake in the making of the kilt. I have measured this kilt 5 times and have always come up short from what was ordered. I also measured this kilt in comparison to the 8 yard handsewn kilt I got from them in December 2005 and it is vastly different. I am confident that they will see that the kilt was made to the incorrect measurements, so I am a little pissed about having to wait at least another month for the kilt that was ordered in February. On the plus side, the rep at Scottishkilts has said that they will make this into an 8 yard "FOC" if they are at fault.

I had really wanted this kilt for the Victoria kilt night last month, but now I am just hoping it shows up in the size, tartan, and 16 oz weight that was discussed and ordered and in time for my cousin's wedding on May 5th.
