    my new sporran

here's a picture of the new sporran i made myself. kinda old fashioned, but with modern touches too....

it took about 8 hours to make - the lacing took 4 hours by itself. it might have gotten done quicker, but i didn't have a pattern for it. i just started from scratch and an idea in my mind. i think it came out pretty good. i will be wearing it with a kilt from now on too. being self employed does have its benefits.

    Crikey.

That is really striking. I love the contrast between the leather and the stitching!

The leather carvings are GORGEOUS! What sort of kilt you plan to wear this with (tartan? solid?)

it'll be worn with both plaid and plain kilts. the plaid will be clan ross ancient hunting tartan. i don't normally like fancy stuff, but it occurred to me that since i do leather work as part of my living i should probably use what i wear as examples of my work too...

i made this one a bit bigger than others i've made. i get really tired of trying to cram everything in it while at the games. this one has room to spare.

Great work! that style is one of my favorites, and I think that it will go with any kilt you wear. Send us a pic after it gets lived in a little bit.

Awesome tooling, Ross. I really like the appearance of depth provided by the darker areas.
