I'll second arrogcow. I'm 5'9" and my Stillwater fits great. I was suspiscious, like you, that it would, but I measured beofre ordering and realized that it was very close to what my handmade one is.

I love my USA Kilt's Casual. The material is 11 ounce poly viscose, which is a woven fabric made of poly and plant fiber. It is coated with Telfon to resist staining and is machine washable. I highly recommend a Casual, especially since you prefer a lower pants-type waist. Also, the Casual will accept a standard 1-1/2 inch belt, instead of a more expensive, wider and heavier kilt belt.
