That certainly made Tartan Day very special for us!
(I had suggested a romantic outdoor location for the "big question" before his trip down -- he asked me ahead of time if I knew of any good spots. I suggested the top of Wayah Bald as very nice. I didn't know at the time it would be near freezing!)

Wow, What a special day for you! Congratulations!
"A veteran, whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve, is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life." That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it." anon

Thanks everyone. Yes, I was kilted - wore my U.S. Army semi-trad from USAK. I couldn't get too dressed up because she wanted to wear jeans and a sweat shirt, and to do so otherwise would have given away the surpise. Regarding the wedding, I'll be wearing my uniform, and a kilt at the reception. Those are her directions, and we've already had the wedding thread here.

YEP!!! That's who I thought you were (after seeing this thread)!!!!
So how did your lass, like her new kilted skirt??? It is a nice tartan.
(and what a GREAT connection between your future and that fateful day)
The USA Kilts Army kilt looked GOOD!!!!
I knew it was army, but didn't even THINK to ask more details.
Also: It is advisable to not mess with BonnieT100. He is airborne, and a strong one at that.
