Left Handed Question!!

Another left hander here. The only thing I do right handed is play the pipes. Actually that way of holding the pipes seemed most natural to me when I first started anyway. I guess maybe they're a left handed instrument by design. Also a reenactor/rendezvouser. I have a Dutch trade musket that I shoot right handed. It's a bit puzzling, but I tend to do better than I do when I try it left handed.
As far as kilts go, no problems at all with modern style kilts, or even the old style fileadh beagh. When I wear a great kilt at an event I usually wrap it opposite of what a righthander would, and draw the plaid over my right shoulder, since that would leave my sword arm free. Most folks who even notice the difference figure I wear the plaid on that side because of the pipes. I've noticed the drones do sit on the shoulder better without the plaid under them.

Lefty, too, but there are a few things I do right-handed, for whatever reason - throw overhand with the right (use my left for underhand), shoot firearms left-handed but I'm a righty in archery, kick left-footed when playing soccer, shoot pool with either but prefer my left...

AAAAAARRRRGGHH!!! I just received a copy of Barb's book, The Art of Kiltmaking, which clearly states, in a little grey box on page 46, that you can't construct a kilt left handed. Maybe that will be revised in the new edition. Regardless, I think I'm up to the challenge!

I've made a couple of kilts left-handed, so it can be done, but don't take my word for it - check with the professional:

The only thing I do RIGHT handed is swing a baseball bat, since I was instructed that way as a lad. Everything else is with my left.
I preferred those "right handed desks" in college though, and accomodated to them. Never did get used to a lefty desk.

I read something several months back that applies to this topic, but it might be a bit controversial. Well, maybe not, but it is all very interesting. People on LSD tend to become left handed, except left handed people, which tend to become right handed while experiencing the effects of the drug. Prolonged use of LSD seemed to awake the experience of ambidexterity in many people, but the full cause of how or why has not yet been explained. The same effect has been found with certain types of magic mushrooms as well, though it is interesting to note that not all types of magical mushrooms seem to cause this odd behaviour.

The human body is absolutely amazing in its complexity and how it works.

I am a southpaw so I am not making fun of anyone, I just sometimes think watching righ handed people do things looks very funny to me.

I am like some of the other people that have responded, am a person who use their left hand more than their right. since I perform at a "Ren. Faire" and I choose to where kilts. I have to be careful of how I wear them. More so because I have fought with a "hand and a half" sword. Since I wear my sword on my right side and draw it. I have to be careful when I "draw" my sword. I had asked on an earlier thread a similar question. Here is the link.

I'm a leftie as well.
I take after my father in that respect. Both taller, bother fairer in complextion, and as luck would have it both southpawed.
I write lefthanded, brush my teeth and hair left handed, eat lefthanded....but most everything else I do with my right.

100 percent lefty. All thought since I am an electrician there are some tasks that must be done right-handed, wire nuts only turn to the right. Have five children, it is a big disappointment none are lefties, had hopes for the grandkids but both are righties so the only ones in the family are me, my uncle and my mother in law. Remember there are only two types of people in the world. those who are left-handed and those who would like to be! So rise up to claim our rights to be left.
