I'm actually of the opinion that Judi Dench actually won the oscar for this performance and not her 30 sec of screen time in Shakespear in Love.

Well a little more than 30 seconds but the role certainly wasn't a long one!

Her list of nominations and awards is certainly impressive!

Can one of the more techno-talented find a picture of the Brown tartan and post it here, It is a great looking tartan.

I have a neck scarf made of the tartan and have carried the banner at a Kirk'in, it is predominantly red, black and blue.

    Brown Tartan

There is a picture of the brown tartan on this website:

    www.house-of-tartan.scotland.net

Type in "Brown" in the Tartan Finder.

In the picture the red appears to be maroon, the actual tartan in a much brighter red.

www.clanbrown.com is the clan web site it has a lot of info for you.

First, I have to agree that everythin Dame Judi Dench does is wonderful.
I even liked Chronicles of Riddick. (And respected Vin Diesel a whole lot more when I heard that he refused to do the film unless she accepted the role.)
She is a wonderful actress and Billy should do more serious films.

    Second...

    Keith Brown.
Brown tartan is fairly rare, I'm in the process of researching kilt makers to have a Brown "tank" made. I've narrowed my choices down to two.
When my yearly bonus check arrives, the order goes in!

The F-H.C.A.G. and I really enjoyed this movie. Certainly an interesting look at Queen Victoria and the dichotomy between the public façade and the needs of the real person behind that role. Billy Connolly did well in Mr. Brown's the transition between duty and obsession. Highly recommended , though a warning to those viewers weaned on modern movies - there is a dearth of “big action sequences”, like life this film is filled with the small moments that wind up meaning so much.

    Cheers

I thought it was Queen Victoria. I haven't seen it but always thought of renting it (if still available).
