Thanks for the ideas guys, but the 2 people i talked to were on the dress code committe. The only positive response was, "if you want to wear that then you have to follow the policy on skirts, you must wear pantyhose." to which i said well what about kilt hose? then he just laughed and walked off.
i may be changing jobs in a year or so, and then it won't be an issue, as i could wear what ever i want.

That was a ludicrous response to give you and he knew it by walking off laughing, unable to give you an intelligent response.

    What the *$&#

Man I hate people like that, I still say look up the documentation for yourself.
He/She might not talk for the company on this see if you can find the Official Dress Code, print it and keep it with you.

The other thing if you go this route dress up your kilt, and make sure you look sharp, just my 2 cents, now I think I've beat this horse enough.

I take that as Hose is Hose. Pantyhose for skirts, kilt hose for kilt! Wear the kilt next Friday un-announced, plead ignorrance if questioned, you thought that this fella walking off laughing was because you found a loophole. I suggest that you wear underthingies if challenged you can prove that you are protecting your modesty (shed 'em after). I think a positive respnse from the general public may soften their stance on this.
