I'm sorry I missed a lot of you guys but it was good to meet Kiltedmusiclover and Beowulf67. We got to make plans for next year. If anyone is at the Triad Games on the 5th of May I'll be maning the Clan MacTavish tent. Stop by and say Hi.

Had a great time and enjoyed meeting everyone. Unfortunately my duties as convenor kept me tied to the tent most of the time. Seems like attendance was up this year, particularly on Sunday which tends to drag. On to Grandfather Mt.!

Hey guys, I had a great time meeting everyone there. That's a nice festival, it was worth the 7 1/2 hour drive and the sunburn!
I hope I can get back up that way sometime again.

Here are a few of my pics from Loch Norman.
First, a view across the field toward the grandstand. Weight for distance event is underway (see the weight in the air). The events were quite excellent, with several records set in the throwing events. The clan tents almost completely surrounded this field. I don't recall how many clans were present, but it was a bunch.
My youngest son throwing the hawk. He took second in youth division after a thrilling sudden-death match-up against a much older kid.
Barclay (center) in a valiant effort on the tug-of-war rope. His side did not prevail, no doubt due to the extra man on the other team and the presence of trousers on his team.
MadBagpiper (center in the red shirt) waiting to perform with the Loch Norman Pipes and Drums on Sunday. He played with the Jamestown P&D all day on Saturday because his own band (Montreat P&D) were not in attendance. He's now developed friendships with members of at least 4 bands, so he can march at pretty much any games he goes to.
Finally, Albannach was raging throughout the weekend! High energy doesn't even come close to describing these guys.
