Women's Fashion Belts
I've come to discover that a woman can just about to anything with a mini-kilt. But, I have a question about belts. Can a sling belt be worn with a mini-kilt without it looking too "punk-rockish?" I've got one that is black leather with ivy vines burned into the leather and I also have one that is silver herringbone. I wonder if there is a way to wear a sling belt with a mini-kilt and still look classy.
For those who don't know, a sling belt is just a decorative belt worn lopsided around the hips below the belt line. Most often you see more people of the "punk-rock" persuasion wearing them. I've worn them before with pants, but never tried it with a mini-kilt.

Well as kilt belts are mainly ornimental and really as far as I know there arent any rules as to how you wear a mini kilt, I say give it a try, if it looks good you can keep doing it.

yeah i'd say go for it too. If the design is too garish and colorful, it may clash with your tartan though.

I don't think you'll have a problem there. Go for it, after all the only person that you have to please is yourself.

I have a sling belt that is a series of silver leopards on a chain-I keep meaning to wear it with my Macleod mini, but I have the same concern about it maybe looking a little less than classy. Guess I'll try it at the next Beer...um...I mean Kilt night and ask the group for their opinions.
Then again, I have to agree that I shouldn't care that much about what other people think, just wear it if I like it, but I'm such a Cancer-I have to have that approval!
Be well,

Post pics so we can critique the look. Heck just post pics so we can have the pleasure of looking at you lovely ladies in mini-kilts.

Without being disrespectful to either of your husbands - I haven't seen any evidence of you two not looking good in your mini-kilts. Accesorize any way you feel comfortable.

So, I decided to try out the belt for Beer night (I've given up calling it Kilt night-that just goes without saying). I put it on (with the Lindsay mini that AlanH made for me, as I was saving the Mcleod mini for the games the next day).
But, then, just to be fair, I compared to the look without the belt. I think the belt just broke up the sillhouette a little too much.
So I went without it, and at Panache's urging, changed my stockings to something a bit more interesting .
More pictures of Beer night in the Show Us Your Pics forum coming up...
Be well,

I saw nothing wrong with the belt.
Like anyone would be looking at the belt!
