I actually worked at Nantahala Outdoor Center as a river guide one summer while I was at NCSU. But I'll stand by my comment -- much of NC is still not very accepting of personal eccentricities.

Congratulations on getting through the first night out: having only being kilted for a little over a year I think I know exactly how you felt.

Matt, Matt, Matt...
You are bitten SOOOOO deep by this kilt bug.
When you tinker with color coordinating like you did you have well qualified as one of us. You are rabble sir....hooked, lined, sinkered....
Didja ever imagine you'd think so much about matching your garter color to a color line in your kilt tartan?
Surrender...you're here...its safe....enjoy the addiction...

Excellent; the more you wear the kilt the more confident you will become.

Tir Na Nog usually has one once a month. The manager is off on holiday in IReland right now, so the next one is scheduled for June. We were in there on Sunday and mentioned to her that we can never make kilt night because it's on Thurs. She said the next one was in July. Told we'd probably be gone by then, so she said she'd have one Mid-June, for us Bragg boys. Looks like I'm gonna miss that one too. You know what they say about plans in the military...

once a month? awesome. they started out at every two months. i've been to every one except the most recent. it does bite that they are on thursday nights. but according to their website the next one is on a saturday: June 9th with the band "Enter the Haggis".
i definitely need to get to that. who else will be there?
