Interesting kilt pins (?)
I just purchased a saffron coloured canvas kilt from CCK. I was thinking that since this was like Carhardt material I should go with a tradesman theme for a kilt pin. I am fortunate to have a Lee Valley store in town and remembered seeing a cabinet pull in the shape of a hammer. With modification and rare earth magnets (also from Lee Valley) it would make a super cool kilt pin. So I went on their website and saw more knobs with potential. Here are the pics blatently borrowed from LV. Clicketypopable of course;
Tools all cast white metal and are between 2-3/4" and 2-7/8":

Lazer cut wood carved in maple, the knobs are 1-1/2" in diameter :

Pewter, item D (maple leaf) 1 3/8" high, item F Fleur-de-lis 1 5/8" high:

Pewter 1 3/16" - 1 3/8" diametre:

Food for thought but certainly some modification to get them to sit flat.

Man, go with one of the tools. That'll really carry the Carhart look.
And if you get a heavy tan tool belt to wear with, like . . . who did that, anyway? Big Mikey? . . . you can even modify a tool pouch for a sporran.
Maybe I'm getting a little carried away here.

Those tools are way cool. I was bestowed an "Erlenmyer Flask" kilt pin made of brass by one of our members (Blacksmith.) Very cool.

That conjures up all kinds of unsavoury images It'd also probably mean the kilt is so low as to look like a hostess skirt. Hmmm, maybe if you pull it right up, a' la military high-rise...
Nope that'd show WAY more than plumber's crack. Dont think I want to go there...
