Making a belt and strap
Here is a picture of the results of my first step, It was taken with my cell phone, so its not so good.
The Widest one will be my Kilt belt. The next one is a belt for my wife, and the thinest one is a sporran strap. I have beveled all three front and back.

how do you bevel them?
what do you do to get rid of the fuzzy stuff?

I purchased a leather bevel tool. I just ran it up the sides front, and back. To get rid of the fuzzy stuff I am getting the sides slightly wet, and taking brown paper, like a garbage bag and rubbing up and down until it is smooth.

Heavy canvas works well too, and doesn't tend to shred.

Use something very smooth and rub in one direction to lay all the fibers down smooth and flat. The handle of your edge bevel can serve very well.

I am doing what was suggested, about going in one direction. It is causing a beautiful edge. I tried the edge of the bevel, but it did not work for me, but the brown paper is working great. I am getting a nice smooth edge, which is slightly darker than the leather.
P.S. My camera is AWOL, and my cell doesn't have good enough resolution.

I have finished the edges of the belt, and the strap. I have also stamped the strap. I decided to go simple on this first belt, and to not stamp the belt, because I have not perfected my hand at stamping, and carving.
