) You should also see about 1" of kilt sticking up above your belt. I typically wear my belt so that the top straps are covered and run it through the belt loops on the back just to keep it from slipping up my back.
I'm wearing my Hunting Mcleod SWK standard and top edge is 2 1/4" above my navel. I'm like Cavscout (just under 5' 11" with a longer torso) and I've found the 24" length perfect (my custom made kilts are all to that length.
I remember DaveDove saying somewhere that at first it takes a little getting used to, wearing something that high on your waist. Do it though and post a picture and let us be the judge...err give you our feedback.
