Done with School
So, my second year of college is over, and where do I go directly from school? Not home, not on vacation, but Madison. It is really weird. I've lived in Beloit my entire life and now I'm living in a new city, where I know nobody, in an empty house (my family moves up here in 6 weeks), without a job, away from all my college friends.
The new house has no furniture, no cable, and (gasp!) no internet! I'm at the library right now. But it's not all bad, the cute librarian was flirting with me about my kilt!
I've gone around all morning, exploring the city (which, by the way, is really gorgeous), picking up job applications, and going grocery/household items shopping.
Leaving Beloit was sad, but Madison should be fun. And two things really keep me going: Galway next semester, and the fact that I finally worked up the courage to give a goodbye kiss to that cute girl from Iowa...
SOOO...If any of you are near Madison, let me know! This place is strangely kilt-less...

Hope you have a great time in the new digs....
I found a cute Iowa girl many moons ago (30 yrs). Will have been married to her for 24 years next month!
(Well, she lived in Iowa when I met her, she was born in Rochester,NY, and grew up in multiple places in the Mid-West)

Congratulations on finishing school and good luck in Madison, I hope you will find other kilties in your new area and I am sure you will spend more time at the library now.

I am the jealous that you're done with school. I am so ready to be done with it, but alas... there's no end in sight.
Good luck in Madison!

Madison is really cool city. You should have a lot of fun there. Great bar scene, and some good microbrews.

Congrats, BP.
Madison can be a very cool city, I hope that you enjoy it.
Don't neglect to put in an application at the libraries...
Are you on Facebook? our students use it heavily, good way to keep in touch over vacations.

ONe of the engineers I worked with was from Madison. He always spoke highly of it.

When I lived in northern Illinois, U Wis. Madison had a reputation as THE party school, so check out the area near the college. Also, they have a pipe band http://madisonpipesanddrums.org/.
I got together with an Iowa gal four years ago, wish I had known about them many years ago!
