Yep. I was thinking the SAME thing.

As far as the popular tartans. I think I would go for a Gordon modern myself. No connection, but the tartan has really grown on me in the last year.

Black Watch is good for me since its my clan tartan. The X-Marks tartan in PV is also a good idea as they already have experience producing this tartan in wool.

I'll send this directly to the e-mail provided, but I'm suggesting
    1. X-Marks
    2. MacDonald variants (Glengarry, Glencoe, Clanranald, etc.) There are a ton of Clan Donald folks out there that would like an option other than "MacDonald Modern", and most of these variants use the same colors.

A bit off topic, but this is the place to pose this question based on the information in the first post.

So this being said, should one look for polyester / rayon blend as opposed to ployester viscose? Or are rayon and viscose the same thing? I only ask because I've been looking for PV and can't seem to find it. I never looked for polyester / rayon though.

Yes, "Viscose" is the UK term for what we call "rayon" in the US.

I am now to the point, personally, where I have enough kilts and the few that I will be making in the future (3 for myself) are limited tartans that he'd never want to weave, or they're contemporary kilts in camoflage or something. So, I'm no help.

    I'm interested.

If reds are hard to get, how about saffron?

No wonder all the ladies at Joann's looked at me funny.

    Thanks for clearing that up.
