What is with NC and kilts? This forum is definately weighted to your state. Welcome from southern Ontario with a fairly decent kilted representation ourselves.
“The mountains of western North Carolina reminded the Scots-Irish settlers of their homeland, so many of them settled in this area bringing a rich heritage to the mountains and the ancestry of many local residents,” according Vic Greene Past-President of the Friends of the Scottish Tartans Society.
If I'm not mistaken, more Scottish immigrants settled in North Carolina than any other state. I'm sure Mr. Matt Newsome could shed some more light on this.
That may have something to do with it.

Hello Everyone. Thanks for the warm welcomes. I'm not actually a NC native....moved down here many years ago from Pennsylvania to go to UNC-Greensboro. And just to clarify....my MacPherson Hunting Modern i just picked up was really at an antique mall in New London, CT. It was at a booth selling vintage clothing. I would normally pass by booths like that, but for some reason the word "kilt" popped into my head. So I looked around a little, and there it was. LOL Thanks again for the warm welcome.
