Two small suggestions, and they may only be relevent to this partiular photo, try and make your hose tops even, and your collar looks unbuttoned. I know my dress shirts tend to be a little tight in that area, but adjusting your tie can help hide it.

I like the shirt color...oatmeal hose would look great with it. A bottle green (wool) tie would look better...and a slightly neater tie-knot.

It's also possible to use another tie colour and matching flashes I think, maybe maroon?

...but even without any changes...you still look very well dressed

For a wedding...keep the off white hose and find a matching off white or white shirt.

Maybe a waistcoat and bow tie...depends on the dress code

You look pretty good to me. Like others have said, fix the knot of your tie.

Ideally, the bottom of the tie should hit right at the top of the kilt, so yours is just about perfect in length. Also, theoretically, there shouldn't be any of the kilt showing over the belt; the tops of the belt and kilt should be even. I know that's hard to do though, so it's not a real criticism.

Thanks for all of the adivce. I kinda knew I would catch some guff for the tie and shirt not being done up perfect. Next time I will know better and do it all up right first.

To answer some questions it is a wedding in Central Illinois (read somewhat redneck) so I am thinking simi-formal at best. The tie is shadow tarten just like the kilt.

Would anyone suggest colored hose and shirt?

I was going to say, see what it looks like if you loose the tie and jacket. If it's a semi casual/formal event you'll still look dressy, but not overstated. The way I look at it is, the kilt in itself is enough to draw attention to you as "dressed" if you'll excuse the pun and if you're in full gear, you may just look way too out of place. Just my opinion as I live in a somewhat redneck town myself.

You look really sharp. Ditto the tie knot and location of the flashes. The forward line of the flashes should almost reach your tibia. And--forgive my very conservative, old geezer's idea here--a tight, well-centered knot is a pet peeve for me. It should look like the collar points and knot fit perfectly.

Also, the idea for maroon colors or a green tie would work well, too.

Keep the belt unless you go with a vest.

Overall, any of us would be proud of the outfit. Knock 'em dead.
