It might look odd to some, but wearing a kilt at all looks odd to some. Then again, I am often known to shatter fashion rules just to piss off the fashion police.

I'm hardly a fashion maven, but I have a bowler with a silver concho hat band I've been known to wear at the, ahem, drop of a hat. I think, so long as you're comfortable with it, what other people think is of secondary importance.

Traditionally, I'd say it would look a bit off. But if you're just being casual, why not?

A few members of my group out here in Arizona wear our Kilts with cowboy hats because it embodies both of the cultures. Hence our group www.sonoranscotsmen.com
Here's a picture of me in a kilt and cowboy hat.

of course there's always the option of adding a nice pinstriped kilt outfit like this to your bowler.
I think Hamish looks smashing already...add the hat and umbrella...*blush*

No disrespect to Hamish, but that's really not my style. Different horses for courses...I like my pinstripe suit.

That's the very image I was thinking of, Thanks cloves

I dont know... one of my nephews saw a bowler at a civil war encampment I took them to. He said cool... he put it on and it looked good on him.. so being the nice uncle that I am, I bought it for him. He wore it all the time. He wore it with jean shorts, tshirt and sunglasses. I must say he looked good! He wore it for months, until someone stole it.
So try it on, look in a mirror, if you think it looks good go for it! Or better yet, take a picture and post it for comments
