When they charge duties over the fabric alone...it won't hurt as much. Besides...fabric alone is more "low profile"
It's probably also cheaper, because of the strong euro/weak dollar.
I was actually asking, as I would make the kilt myself.
The tartan is approx $57 (US), plus everything else (shipping, customs, etc).
As for making the whole kilt, I would agree. It is usually cheaper to have it made in the US (or at least purchased through a US shop (wholesale and all that complex tax stuff).
