The KOA is good. There is also a family campground in Montreat, but it's tent sites only.
Dogs are always welcomed on our hikes as long as they don't bite or urinate on the hike leader's boots.

Hmmh, based on the actual dates, this might work for us too. And that means we will be coming the farthest distance Barclay! Be a nice break from the Florida heat.

OK, here's the first bug. It turns out I can't do the last weekend in July after all. I'll be in Arizona hiking in canyonland and hopefully meeting Riverkilt. Darn.
I can do:
Any weekend in June, including June 29-July 1
July 6-8
July 20-22
August 10-12

Hmmm, I wonder what the people in Page would think about 15-20 kilted gentlemen show up???

Hmm. None of those dates would work out for me.
Not to pull the rabble from this outing, but what about a hike in the Triangle for those in the area? Umstead has some wonderful trails.

The August date would be the best for me. But I think you need to go with what ever date the most can attend.

I would suggest if anyone else is interested in the trinagle hike that you can start another thread regarding that possibility. If you would look at that for say early fall Late Sept or Early October we
we could try to get some of the western group to head that way.
