Good news is that I bought a whole whack of Ridgid® power tools so that I could caulk the patio door. Her majesty didn't even ask why I need a cordless resipricating saw, circular saw, screw driver, flash light or hammer drill to caulk. All I told her, before going out, is that I needed a cordless caulking gun (no the powered cordless kind) knowing that I'd have to replace my old FUBAR drill to have batteries for this caulking gun . Bad news is that she will find a whole whack of other jobs for me to use my new tools on.

No home project is worth doing unless you first have to buy power tools to do it. Just remember that for the next "honey do" project. For example, I did not see mention of a air compressor for air tools like a nail gun :-)

lol. I'm glad a stranger from Colorado trusts me with a nail gun. Even I couldn't inadvertantly fire a nail 3000 miles.

I whole-heartedly agree that with the savings of hiring someone to buy a much needed tool. Did I ever mention the time I dropped my wife off for surgery then proceeded to Sears and put a $1400 tablesaw on her credit card whilst she was under the knife?

My biggest concern of buying power tools is that one day she'll figure out how to perform that vasectomy I've been putting off...

Before my wife and I repainted the interior of our home, I calculated how big a compressor I'd need to run an HVLP spray gun to spray all 24 doors and the windows. She got me this:



Oh yeah . . . that'll do it! The compressor was for my birthday one year; I got the 100' hose reel this year. What a wife! Plus she thinks I look good in kilts

I agree - every new project is a good excuse for new tools that you need for other things. Lately my tools have been gathering dust in favor of scissors, stitching needles, leather punches, etc. I have a rotting door fram and just can't get up the motivation. Maybe today. .....but then, I just got a piece of tartan fron BC to make into a MacGregor flap. Maybe the door won't rot more betwen now and next weekend. hmmm.

Having worked for The Home Depot, I can attest that Ridgid Rocks. I wish I could have afforded some of there tools, but since I teach in Louisiana, we are basically volunter workers and can't afford Ridgid.

Never understood the batt. powered caulk gun...just how hard is it to squeeze the other one???
