Jude is busy working on a PC conversion for me, but we are not far enough along for photos yet. However, I felt that a quick summary of costs to date might be worthwhile. Tail coat from Mytuxedo.com $ 30.60 Folkwear pattern $ 26.63 Pewter buttons $ 26.00 Thread/lining etc $ 6.00 PC and vest for under $90.00 priceless!! Jude was able to salvage enough material from the tails to make tail and sleeve flaps for the jacket and a three button vest to go with the jacket, using the Folkwear pattern. The jacket is a shawl collar in navy blue. I know shawl collars are not traditional for PC's, but I like them. Brian
In a democracy it's your vote that counts; in feudalism, it's your Count that votes.
Cant wait to see it.
BeeDee I recently did the same conversion maybe my writeup can be of some help. http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/s...ad.php?t=26651 I like the look of a shaw collar, but they didn't have one in my size. I can't wait to see yours.

Thanks for reminding me of these projects. I'm curious as to as many "style" tux-based jackets as I can see. Do ya'll see the Prince Charlie term as for ANY tailed tux jacket (modified or stock for kilts)? OR is it for a SPECIFIC style of tailed tux-esque kilt jackets?
I believe that Panache's PC-knockoff is a modified set of tails. It looks great and so does cacunn's
