Yes there seems to be no shortage of money for restoring the Cutty Sark. The BBC Scottish News ran a feature on this last night comparing the fortunes of the Cutty Sark with her English built sister now langusihing in Scotland, The City of Adelaide. While its great to hear that the Cutty Sark, being a Scottish built ship will be restored, its a shame the money can't be found to also restore the City of Adelaide, another clipper from the same era, which is beached and gradually rotting away at the Scottish Maritime Museum at Irvine Harbour and faces scrapping. If the Cutty Sark can be restored then so also could the City of Adelaide which would cost a lot less money to rehabilitate.
