Dread,
You will both be in my thoughts and prayers. I have been very near your present location, more recently than I like to recall.
Please take good care of yourself. If you don't have someone with you to nag you, pretend that we're there reminding get a drink of water, a bite to eat. Hydration is really important, don't ever walk past a water fountain.
With love,

Getting close to zero hour.
To everybody that has taken the time to say something, both public and private, thanks. It means more than you know. We pretty much have no family support going in to this. As strange as it sounds, ya'll are our family. And we thank you.
We will go in tomorrow at about 11, and the surgery should start around 1.
The gravity of the situation really started to sink in when they did the blood typing and what not. If that artery is tapped, and she starts hemmoraging, there isn't much they can do, but they were obligated to have all the right information set up to try and correct it. She is an organ donor, so, if the worst happens, my loss will be somebody elses gain. We had to talk about how much effort will be taken to revive her if something happens, and life support, and all those things that really start setting in just how grim everything really is.
50/50. That is the shiny happy pie in the sky odds. And that is if everything goes just perfect. I aint to happy about that really, but there isn't a damn thing I can do to change it, so I must accept that which I can not change. There are at least six tumors. Six. With shadows showing up that indicate there could be more. And quite a few of those have latched on to a major artery and are literally leaching the life out of her. Each one they cut out there is a chance that they could either cut to deep and she bleeds out in seconds, or they don't cut deep enough and even if just a smidgeon is left behind it will be enough to make everything regrow. Which means in a very short time, we could be back to gambling under the knife again on the whole to deep / not deep enough game. I am smart enough to understand what all of this means.
And what does it mean exactly?
Far to delicate situation for humans to deal with, somebody elses help is needed. And I will leave it at that for this forum.
Much thanks goes out to you all.

The one thing that really needs "vibing" (other than the whole sudden death) is the cross cut issue.
We really don't want that to happen.
That is really the major concern right now. As it is, they will have to cut acrossed the stomach, maybe from hip to hip. There is a chance that they will also have to cut from sternum to hip, forming a cross cut. If this happens, healing could take forever, literally, as the section where the four corners meet splits back open with the slightest twinge. This would be very, very bad. We don't want this. (Or sudden death) Don't get me wrong, I'd be glad she lived even if this happens, but taking a year or so to heal and all that goes with that would be bad. It would make our lives excedingly difficult, and I am not sure if I am physically capable of caring for her in that state.
She should probably be in bed right now, but she is eating a few last cookies before midnight, spending some time talking to the dog, and listening to the Beatles. (I Am the Walrus)
The dog is not well. She is so attuned to our states of mind. I don't know what to do for her. When we get stressed out, she gets stressed out. I don't know what we would do with out her. Thank God for hounds.

I'll be thinking about you both tomorrow ALL DAY. Will be able to spend some time in my favorite place and I will pray for you. Please let the "Pirate Princess" know how much we have loved getting to know her and we look forward to reading many more posts from her as she recovers.
