Great Kilt

Here is one of the best-looking examples of a great kilt worn that I have seen recently, by H.Hastings, a member here. I was so taken I bookmarked it. He may wear it a bit short, but with those boots it looks great, IMO.

I think a belted plaid CAN work with modern formal Highland dress - a concept that horrifies today's "traditionalists", I'm sure!

However, instead of pulling it up and across the front of your chest, it would look much better to pull up the length in back and pin it to your left shoulder, as it was worn historically:

No, there is a hidden safety pin holding the plaid to the jacket from the underside.
