However, instead of pulling it up and across the front of your chest, it would look much better to pull up the length in back and pin it to your left shoulder, as it was worn historically:

No, there is a hidden safety pin holding the plaid to the jacket from the underside.

Does the plaid hanging off the shoulder "pull" on the shoulder of the jacket, making it "cata-wompt" (it did last time I tried)?

I have it in front, as to "relieve" the pulling.

Any tips on attaching the upper portion of the plaid to clothing?
