I'm so incredibly glad that she's doing O.K and is home with you.
Give her a gentle cuddle and savour her as I'm sure you've been doing since she got back.

Continuing to pray for a good recovery.
I lit a candle and said a prayer for you both, Dreadbelly and Jadewink, today at Blanchland Abbey.

Tomorrow we go in and have the big metal staples removed.
From that point, we go on with our lives.
I quietly go on to try and become something of a kilt maker... She picks up some of her assorted pieces, and in time, we will try again. Hopefully, one day, there will be three of us. Maybe four.
Doctor said she is in such good health for a woman her age... She is in better health all things considered than many 20 year olds he deals with, he said we could probably start working for actual pregnancy in 12 to 16 weeks. I credit the careful and dedicated vegetarian / pescotarian diet. Her blood pressure, cholesterol, everything, all good. Surgery went far better than he could have hoped for... Not only did everything go as planned, but she is recovering at a record rate. There were comments that people come out of surgery and family brings them McDonalds or crap like that for them to eat in the hospital... All that does is further gum up their systems and mess up their already screwed up insides. Clogs the bowels, which are already jolted from surgery. Patients then suffer from constipation and need stool softeners and loudly lament that their insides hurt. First thing the wife ate after surgery... A fruit platter. I brought a jug of jasmine green tea, brewed with peppermint up to the hospital. The diuretic properties of that flushed most of the surgery drugs out of her system and the peppermint did wonders for her nausea. The doctor even said that was the best possible thing somebody could bring a patient in recovery. The jasmine also did a great job as a muscle relaxant.
I am really happy how all of this turned out really. Still a long road ahead... Some physical therapy stuff... Mostly, at minimum, 30 to 45 minutes a day of walking... Strong fast walking. It'll make sure that her stomach heals up well with no hernias or anything. Lots of hard work ahead, all of which will be worth it.
We wanted a second chance, we got it.
And I owe everybody many thanks. Prayers do work.

Sounds very encouraging, thanks for that update.
Let me know if you have any "physical therapy" questions.

The physical therapy stuff is entirely out of hospital. Mostly a list of things to do to restore abdominal integrity. Walking, stretching, breathing excercises, little things to do to promote healthy muscles during the healing process.
Failure to do these things could result in a weak abdominal wall, and could effect future events like pregnancy. Could also heal badly and leave a weak painful spot, a hernia, that would hurt like the dickens when she coughs or sneezes.
Any advice or insight would indeed, be appreciated.
Edit. Forgot. I should mention, my wife is 39 years old. So her being in better shape than many 20 year olds really is a big deal. Her average blood pressure is 120/70. Her cholesterol is 70 something. Other than some bad asthma, she really is good to go. Had she not been in the health she is in, this surgery would have likely been disasterous and the recovery process prolonged considerably. It wasn't always this way... Her cholesterol was over 200, her blood pressure was much much higher, and she couldn't get up a single flight of steps with out clutching and puffing her inhaler for dear life and spending 10 to 20 minutes gasping for air and trying to recover. We both smoked. So a lot has changed.

The baby should have been born around the 4th of July. The one we lost. It has really been bugging me for the past few days. I guess I'll probably take that day to sit back, quietly reflect, and tip back a drink of something for the departed.
Or not.

Knowing you are the island mon. I would say Rum would be good.
Now for your wife and the surgery see if you can get Comfrey salve to rub on the scars. when I had my surgery I applied it 4 times a day and used Warm comfrey compress.

and

I also had cut bones that needed to repair so I added bone set to the salve.
I was sending out vibes for a good surgery and quick recovery.
