To be precise Robert, that was the older denim kilt, not that you can tell under the dirt. I think I love my hemp too much to do that to it.
True, it will take a beating and I've been thinking of posting a couple of "hemp after one year on constant wear" photos.

Haha, well the only thing better than a hemp kilt is two hemp kilts, which means I can and do keep one for clean outings and the other for daily work.

Glen and I saw a guy in Denver wearing a UK covered in paint, he thought it looked cool. Well my hemp has a wee bit of paint on it now but not too much.

I'm finding the hemp is good to wear all year round here, summer and winter. We don't get extremes of weather like Ontario though!!

Oh, my! That what some kilts are for! This last weekend was spent tossing railroad ties around, doing some landscaping infrastructure work. The MARPAT digital camo kilt took quite a beating. One trip through the washing machine took most of the mess out of the poly/cotton material, and anything left is hidden in the camo. Of course, my unbleached canvas kilt still has some brown stains that won't come out.

Now, I wouldn't try this with an XMarks or MacLaren wool tartan kilt - way too expensive!

I split wood in my poly/cotton kilts all the time (but NEVER use the chain saw with one....those wood chips are hot and they move pretty fast!)

Might I suggest that your wood shed needs a roof??? [lol!]

Actually, I was just finishing off with the axe, I'd been using the chainsaw most of the afternoon, I don't find a problem using it.
The shed does have a roof, it's made of clear material to allow the light in. It doesn't show too well in the photo.
