I'm liking that maroon idea, but I think that might have to wait until the budget allows it. Do any of you know where I can get some decently priced maroon hose? Somewhere in Canada would be preferable, just for duty and delivery reasons.
For now I'll try to find black hose because I already have a black shirt.

Yeah, I still have the tag on it. I tend not to remove tags from anything clothes until the first time I'm going to wear the garment "for real." Just in case.
I hope it will become an heirloom; I hope both of my kilts will.
Hopefully I'll have some pictures when I have the kilt on and I'm dressed up a bit better. My 1st wedding anniversary is in exactly two weeks and I intend to wear when my wife and I go out to celebrate.
Oh, since I didn't mention it previously. The kilt was made by Lochcarron. The tag actually says: Highlander by Lochcarron. Once I get a chance to wear it out I might write up a review and compare it to my Celtic Craft Centre kilt.
