    lol well his is made and all done now and on the right and the buttons dont look bad at all quess because they are clear and tartan shows through.will post pictures after games this weekend

    I have heard frequently that a child's kilt is generally made with the closing on the left, mainly so it can be sold to either a boy or a girl.(only 1 kind of stock to keep)

    If I were making one myself for a child, I would distinguish it specifically on the right for a boy, and the left for a girl.

    Just my preference.

    kids kilts as shown here and the next picture have the apron opening on left. But it looks like the lad has kilt pin on right.

    If I was making one for a boy though - I would make it so it opened to the right.

    As a general comment-you see many women wearing mens kilts (open right) I have never seen a man wear a ladies kilt (Open Left)
