David, let's loan him a bike that has one hour left on it's warranty and a map of the Galloping Goose Trail. Then we'll steal the battery from his cell phone.
    Problem solved.
He'll end up in Langford when the handlebars fall off. It's too far to walk back and he can't call for help.

Thank you. My wallet says borrowing is preferable to renting, and newer is not always better.

(Hmmm... I guess it's too late to sneak in "under the radar.")

So, David, now we know Steve's plan, how is the hitchhiking when kilted in B.C.? We know it doesn't work too well for Andrew Beecher in the outback of Colorado, but there are probably other issues at work there. Victoria has been represented as a kilt-friendly town.

BTW, the motel desk clerk told me the Galloping Goose Trail goes right into downtown!? ... ... Aha! That's just what ya'll call it for tourists. Its REAL name is probably something like the Wild Goose Chase.

AAAHHHH yes, but we Canadians are wily, The Galloping Goose does go directly into downtown, but only one way. The other way it goes WWAAAYYY out into the wilds of the Great White North. And we're not going to tell you which way is which.

And I have found you a bike, The frame is a full 8" and has oversized 9" tires. It has a cool set of training wheels and you will really like the Ninja Turtle stickers.

I have to say that I've never tried it. Hitchhikers are pretty rare here (rarer than kilties), but the bus system is good, and Victoria is bicycle-friendly.

Well gents, it looks like I will be there. And to chip in, Victoria is quite bike-able (you can get maps with the bike routes and such marked in).

I hope the Kilt Kamp has been going well (hint, hint, how about an update and some pics Steve for those of us that couldn't make it?).

Have a great time tonight at the kilt night. I had really wanted to be there for that, but the timing was just not right. Watch out for that Andrew character and that Big Mikey guy Remember to take lots of pictures.

We'll some of you guys next week at the BC Highland games.

Well folks, we are about to finish with day two of Kilt Kamp and head over to the restaurant for dinner and Kilt Night with the band Kitangus.

Barb and David Tewksbury arrive in Seattle after the first leg of a long and tiring day of travel.

Barb starts the course with a primer on identifying Tartans and how to work with them.

Derek (MDR V300) begins laying out his pleats.

Erin, Master Contemporary Kiltmaker as she concentrates on her first Traditional Kilt.

Steve (The Wizard of BC) asks Barb a question. "What are all these lines doing on your fabric?"

Richard, (Way2Fractious) showing off his Military Box Pleat Kilt.

A meeting of the masterminds. Gordon Kirkbright delivers the X Marks Tartan and he and Barb start talking all that technical stuff.

It's time for me to get dressed for dinner. More tomorrow. Are you jealous yet that you didn't come to Kilt Kamp?
