    Another PC Conversion

I first posted the beginnings of this as The True Cost of a PC Conversion http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/s...ad.php?t=27695
Strictly speaking it is a Brian Boru jacket as we used a shawl collar tail coat from myowntuxedo.com. It's billed as navy blue, but it is the darkest navy that I have seen and is basically black.

Now it's completed and ready to go to the cleaners for a final pressing. Jude did a fantastic job on this, it's great to have a seamstress on hand. She basically followed the directions from cacunn's conversion for the jacket. http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/s...ad.php?t=26651

First step was to unpick the tails, saving as much material as possible, and cut the new back flaps. We were unable to find a matching liner fabric but since the lining is only visible in the tails when worn don't think it's a problem.

The saved material from the tails was used to make a matching vest, using the Folkwear pattern.

Buttons came from Three Feathers Pewter. These are three views of the finished product:

So all I need now is an occasion to wear it - probably at a friend's daughter's wedding at the end of June.

Looks good but you are missing the most important picture...

...The one with you wearing it!

    Cheers

Nice shots, lets see it paired up with a kilt on someone. The talent on this board never ceases to amaze.

Well it's pushing 90 degrees here in NC today, and I just did not feel like getting dressed in a dress shirt, socks and ghillies just for a photo. And we need to get it to the cleaners for a press.
