New and Jonesing!
Hey everybody,
Been lurking around for a few weeks and finally decided to join the group. Seems like a pretty stress free, friendly place. I'm looking forward to talking to everyone and seeking advice. Now for the biggest thing since marriage and kids: I finally took the leap and ordered a box pleat from Matt Newsome in Lamont modern. Talk about a leap! Anyway, I'm happy now and really understand what jonesing is. Going to be a long wait-Matt says around 16 weeks. Oh well, I guess it just means there's more of us out there than I thought and that's a good thing. Oh, by the way, the name Luckey has nothing to do with my situation in life although I feel that way what with family and friends - the name is my family connection with the Lamont clan.
 and nobody gets hurt.

Welcome aboard!! I certainly like your location signature!
Also, having just received my Matt Newsome kilt, the wait seems longer than it is... But it is so worth it!
"A veteran, whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve, is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life." That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it." anon

Is this your first kilt? If so, you've picked a good one. Wow, 16 weeks. I guess you have time to get your accessories in order. Welcome to the group.

Yes, first one. Looked around for quite a while and decided to get a kilt from a maker with a great reputation. As I said earlier, I hung around for a while reading some of the posts here and then spent some time on Matt's site before deciding. Have to admit, got nervous before hitting that last button to send payment. But like you said, lots of time to get accessories in order. I'm sure I'll be asking for advice on those in the near future. So far Matt has been great to deal with!

Luckey,
Welcome from sunny California. Matt Newsome's work is worth the wait I have a 5 yard knife pleat from him and just love it.
You have a bit of a wait, but oh what fun you can have gathering all the accessories!
Read, ask, but most of all have fun
Cheers
