Returning...and departing
G'day folks!
I've been a little absent from the forum over the past few months, mostly due to the necessity of moving house due to the sale of the property we were renting.
However, we've just about settled into the 'new' house, just in time to prepare to move again - this time overseas!
Yup, this Aussie is moving to Atlanta, Georgia (that's where my wife has a new job to go to)!! So, while I've returned to the forum, I'll soon be departing again while I relocate from Australia to Atlanta.
If there are any kilties in the Atlanta area, drop me a line, I could use some insider knowledge of the area.
cheers!

Hachiman, there are quite a few of us here in the Atlanta area. Just keep the questions coming and one or more of us will chime in. You'll be a new member of the Great Southeastern Kilt Society. Hope you get here in time for the two remaining Highland Games in Georgia, both in October.

Hachiman - don't know a lot about Atlanta, but as a Kiwi who has lived in the US since 1980 would be happy to give any advice or help about the US in general. Just send me a PM.

How funny. A good friend of mine just left Atlanta for a job with Quantas in Melbourne. There seems to be a big contingent of the rabble active in and around Atlanta, so you should feel right at home soon. I'm only about 2.5 hours north east of Atlanta, but have yet to get down there to meet any XMarkers.
Good luck with your move!

Best of luck with all your coming and going - I'm sure you'll find some XMarks brothers in that neck of the woods!

Why, what a happy coincidence! I'm hoping that I'll be in Atlanta by September! My wife should have an apartment sorted out by the time I arrive!
Turpin, any suggestions on reasonable areas to find accomodation/housing? We won't have a car for a while, so any place that allows easy public transport to GA Tech would be good.
cheers
