I have found that you can get free hangers by visiting ladies clothing stores in the mall. I have used these in the shop for almost two years now and find they do the job quite well.

They are the hangers skirts and pants are on at the store and when an item is sold they are thrown away.
The quality is not the greatest but for the price you can't beat it.

They will not span all the thicknesses of a kilt hung as you would wear it so I came up with a way of folding the kilt so the hanger only needs to grasp two layers of kilt.

Using two free hangers I have found the kilt is supported very nicely and the pleats and aprons are allowed to hang wrinkle free.

Give it a try. It won't cost anything to try.

I'm using this method (but I bought my hangers) and it works great. I needed mine in a hurry, so I ended up buying them, but I'm going to be keeping my eyes open for freebies for my next kilt. Thanks Wiz for this great suggestion!
