Well, I strongly disagree with that. Wearing boots with a kilt is far different from some of the examples on this (now 100 page!) thread. There is a difference between a modern, casual kilt and a MacTablecloth wrap.
And to go back to the Renn Faire guy, he looks too clean. I think he should walk around in mud, sweat through his shirt, and coat his...err..."kilt" in lamb's piss. That way, it would at least be approaching how Scotsmen looked back in the day!
