Whilst with another kilted friend in a pub a woman did ask if we wanted to borrow her waxing kit. I felt like saying 'No thanks, I'm sure you need it more than me', but didn't.
I think a bow best acknowledges a compliment on your legs, rather than a curtsey.

Yesterday when I was at Casa Loma,(pics here:http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/s...ad.php?t=29041) I was asked if I worked there, but the really interesting thing was that I had three people yesterday comment on the sgian dubh, but not one of those people commented on the kilt, I did get other compliments though. I thought it was funny that someone would notice a sgian dubh but not notice a kilt.

A couple of days ago, three of us (myself, friend and his wife) donned our kilts for an afternoon excursion. We were quite a colourful ensemble...me in Scottish National, friend in Freedom of Scotland, and his wife in a Royal Stewart semi-mini. We dropped in at the B&Q DIY store for some stuff, and outside a friendly guy called across '...ah, reminds me of home.'
Then we went to a park to fool around with a model speedboat on the lake. It got a few spectators - none commented on the kilts, but one woman with her little boy said afterwards '...we were very impressed.' It seemed all so natural to be in kilts - and why not?
Put a smile on the world's faces.
