First "nice kilt" comment!
Okay, I know this is not the end all of comments, but I got my first "nice kilt" comment from a nice looking younger lady today.I think I grew 2 inches taller after hearing it. Now if only I could collect a nickel for every "are you Scottish" comment I would be rich allready!

I, too, have so far collected one favourable response, which was '...I like the kilt!'. As it was from a friend of a friend who I wasn't sure what she might make of it, it came as a double point score. It was the first thing she said when she arrived and came in the room.
Another indirect positive comment was from another lady acquaintance when she was taken by surprise at seeing myself and a friend for the first time in kilts - 'I like seeing a man in a kilt - it looks macho.'

Parts of me... in particular, the knees.
Congratulations on the compliment. It does wonders for your bearing and deportment, doesn't it?

I had a pretty good experience on Wednesday. I was just out at a local sports bar in my kilt, and some guy walks over to me and says "What the hell are you wearing? Who the hell do you think you are?" And about 4 random strangers sitting at the table next to us spoke up before i even got the chance and 100% defended me, and starting picking on this "bully". I just smiled as they tore him apart and looked him straight in the eye.
I bought a round of beers for the other table to say thank you.

I hope you passed along the name of your kiltmaker to your new friends.
