Great tutorial, thank you very much. Any chance you could give us a few dimensions? Would they be larger for adults? Much appreciated.

I didn't actually measure them as I made them, but I'll measure them now.
They're about 1/2 the length and 2/3 the width of adult flashes.

Each flash (is that the proper term for each "ribbon", there being two on each leg?) is 1 and 2/8 inch wide and 3 and 1/2 inches long.

The Stillwater Macleod flashes of Panache's that I copied are 1 and 6/8 inches wide and 5 and 6/8 inches long.

The elastic depends on the wearer.

    Be well,

A great photo essay. It's a different way of doing flashes than the ones I have (5 sets from 5 different makers). In each of those the flash is doubled over the elastic so that each flash has four dangling bits (what do you call them?) Your method is more economical on material.

Y'know... I have plenty of Dress Stewart scraps from making my handsewn Dress Stewart kilt. I think I'm off to make some flashes to go with the kilt. Y'think some charcoal colored kilt hose would look keen with a Dress Stewart kilt?

    Thanks, great photo tutorial.
It's going to help once I get around to making some flashes, after I get some hose, while I make an x-kilt...

Of course not, any kind of real man would use duct tape if he had a run in the nylon department......

Seriously, great thread and much appreciated.
