I can't drink anymore, but for drinking songs of the Celtic variety, it would be really hard to get much better than the Clancy Brothers.

    Some of my faves:
    Cruiscin Lan
    Pub With No Beer
    Whisky, You're the Divil
    Juice of the Barley
    Finnegan's Wake
    Maloney Wants a Drink
    Mountain Dew

Got to go with "Another Irish Drinking Song" by DaVinci's Notebook.

How can I not love a song with lyrics like:

    "Ken, he died in Kilkenny
And Claire she died in Claire
    Darren died in Derry
    Taking in the Derry air."

    and

    "My only hope is when
The Good Lord comes for me and you
He kills the cast of Riverdance
    And Michael Flattley, too."

...it's a PARODY, folks...it's meant to be funny...don't take it seriously...Mr. Flattley is obviously still alive...

    OK, I'll contribute one

I think "The Irish Ballad" by Tom Lehrer is great song to sing and drink to.

    Cheers

A band from my hometown of Durango, CO, called Beltaine, recorded a version of that song in a medley that also contained the theme from X Files turned into a jig.

THE best drinking song, INMO: Barrett's Privateers by the late great Stan Rogers:

    Right, Colin?

If I had to pick another one, it would have to be Waltzing Matilda. There are just too many to pick from.

    Cheers,

I quite agree with that one...especially if you have a few lads that can sing those harmonies...Stan Rogers = most excellent!
