Welcome aboard from Snellville Georiga! As I told my nephew tonight, being Scottish is more than just DNA, it is a state of mind!
"A veteran, whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve, is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life." That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it." anon

Welcome from glorious Devon. Home of strawberries and clotted cream...and some guy who insists on wearing a kilt instead of a straw chewing smock.

As a matter of fact, I do. I spent a Sunday afternoon wandering around the town center once. There was a very nice rose garden park where I sat for awhile. My favorite town/city though is Bayreuth. I even had a chance to attend the Wagner Opera there one time.

If you served in the German Army you might have been to the Grafenwoehr Training Area, where I am working.

    Best wishes,
    Tom

Another of my favorite towns is Rothenburg an der Tauber. A beautiful walled city just northwest of Nuernburg. The wall was damaged during WW2 but was restored by a campaign that brought in donation from all over the world, including Japan and Israel, as I recall. And, to top off a great day, there is (or was) a Scottish Shop that sells Kilts and more.

Yes, kilt wearing is addictive. But, welcome anyway from Eastern Washington.
