Hi from Devon, UK.
I think the first trip to the local store in a kilt, where maybe everyone knows you, is an initiation test. It was a while before I got around to it. They're getting used to it now though.

If you're gonna wear kilts all the time you're gonna need more than one. Best get to shopping.
And hey...remember those artists that did huge cloth art in parks and across rivers and all that stuff. One of then needs to hang a giant kilt on that big arch in St. Louie...

I love the Scottish Arms. Dad and I went to the Tartan Day, and there's an even bigger festival sometime in October.
