    SWK Thrifty Kilt review

One of the first things I did when I joined the forum was check out the sponsers.SWK Thrifty Kilt caught my eye right away due to its very low price. After seeing a few good reviews from xmarks members I thought what the hec at $27.00 there wasn't much to lose so I ordered one in Irish National last wed. evening and it showed today (sat.).less thn 72 hours after I placed my order! Outstanding service!
Now on to the Kilt itself,I knew I wasn't ordering a fine tailored kilt so didn;t really have high expeptations, but I must say I am very plesaed. The Kilt was better looking then expected, fit well for an ajustible garment, the velcro closers work well,
the aycrlic cloths texture and colors were way better then I thought they would be!
The only real fault I could find was that the pleats werea bit rumpled and a quick hit with the iron took care o' that! So if your in the market for a traditional looking but very inexpencive knockaround kilt that you won't be embarrised to be seen in give the Thrifty kilt a try.

    Cheers,

    Mike

Glad to hear it. I am waiting for mine to arrive atm.

My thoughts were the pretty much the same. For Knocking about just shy of thirty is a good deal.

    Thrifty in Wallace tartan

I got my Thrifty rapidly as well. It fits quite well, is real quick on and off, and I too thought it was far better made than I expected. Have worn it several times out in public but no remarks, either good or bad. I will need, however, to shorten the length as I have to wear it nearly to my armpits (or at least it feels that way) to keep it mid knee.

Most of mine are SWK. including two "Trifty Kilts". I also ordered from another company and paid $45. Apart from having straps instead of velcro it was pretty much a 'Thrifty Kilt' and not nearly as good quality. Crooked stitching on the apron, but luckily you can't see it because of the Tartan design unless you look real close. AM sticking to Stillwater. Once they get more tartans, I'll be ordering more. (I only have nine....)

I am not big on acrylic, however I was thinking about getting one for air travel, and maybe a bit of knocking around.
My only real problem is the 24" drop, as I am shall we say vertically challenged. Thanks for the review.

Michael Steinrok was sporting one of these at our last Bay Area Kilt Night. It looked quite nice. Though it didn't have belt loops nor, I believe, sewn down pleats. You just can't beat the price.

    Cheers
