The reunions are great. I got to go to my father's old squadron reunion in '05 and learned lot more about his service and his buddies. A lot of us second generation folks carrying on the reunion traditions as our parents age and die off.

I think I remember more than anything the profound awe and respect the young military pilots of today had for their predecessors. A lot of young pilots came to the reunion just to meet these War 2 flyboys and talk with them about what it was like.

Alex, I'd love to know more about that bike. I'm an avid biker and also promoting a multi-purpose trail system in my area where something like this would be very useful. Please tell me all you can.

The bike is supplied by WRK bikes, and all are made to order in Holland.
The bike illustrated cost almost £3,000 ($6,000).

Have not visited the site for a few weeks as I have been busy with Arthur Mackie the ex RAF pilot who designed the Royal air Force tartan ( which is design protected) in developing a new busines.Sales of the tartan are increasing with massed RAF pipe bands will be playing in Edinburgh 2009 amongst their many international visits and the Scotland & Northern Ireland ATC pipeband making an appearance in Dundee wearing the RAF tartan. Much updating on this site is still required. Links would be greatly appreciated.

OMG--cool bike. What a great idea. Mom was a Liverpudlian war bride and Dad a US GI. Dad died last Nov and Mom in January. They would have loved that bike in their last couple of years. Great pics as always.

Great post. Was out for a walk along shore of Lake Ontario last Sunday and heard the rumble of a propeller driven aircraft. Looked up and it was a 4 engined Lancaster bomber out of the Hamilton, Ont. museum. What sweet music to the ears and remembrance of the Harvard Trainers and Avro Anson trainers of the same era.
