Yukko...been there done that. I remember my father made me change clothes before he'd drive me to the hospital to get sewn up...I was wearing grubby cut offs at the time.
Remember to keep your hand high and when it heals you can have the great joy of taking your own stitches out...no clue why...but I love doing that.
And, after the wound heals up keep massaging it so the scar doesn't get stiff...or...better yet...follow your physician's advice instead of mine.
