yeah, I could spend 2 weeks in the orkneys alone, or the wallace collection, for that matter.
Personally, see all of London, day trip to Hadrian's wall and Stonehenge, don't kiss the blarney stone (rumour has it the locals go up there and take a wee on it over night . . . ).
Then plan to do it again in 2 years time!

If you are in the London area definitely go to Greenwich...scads of Naval history (and the Prime Meridien)... Hampton Court Palace is always a good trip... and if you are at all museum interested you could spend two weeks in the British Museum alone!

Look at the Scottish holiday thread, decide on just a few things you want to do while here and enjoy it.
Most people don't get to visit at all, so make the trip a memorable one without stressing yourself out.
If you're lucky, you'll get to come again before you know it!

My wife and I went to London last summer for our honeymoon. Some of the things I enjoyed the most were:
The Tower of London, it's just and interesting building with interesting history. Be sure to get one of the tours given by the warders. The warder we had was great.
Windsor Castle: Why? Because it's just a really cool castle.
Stonehenge: This was interesting and once there, it doesn't take too much time to do.
The town/city of Bath: Basically this is a town that was built right on top of a Roman town that noboby knew was there. You can actually go down into the baths that they've excavated, which is very interesting.
We actually took a day tour that took us to Stonehenge, Windsor Castle, and Bath. It was expensive, but worth it.
If you do go to London, one thing I would stay away from is Madame What's-her-face's Wax museum. It was 50 pounds per person and quite boring. I did the whole thing in 45 minutes.

If you go to stonehenge you will be disappointed far better to go to the stones in the isles.
If around Edinburgh the castle is obvious, but also the Forth Bridge, take the wee boat out to inchcolm abbey if its a nice day.
Try the Wallace monument if your about Stirling.
If your in Ireland try to catch a GAA game or up in Belfast a Rugby match at Ravenhill

I hear the Glennfidich is an excellent tour! Of course, that recommendation was from the daughter or relative of the distillery. They were doing Glennfidich tasting and it was a great deal at the Kansas City Highland Games. Their single malt tasting was fabulous and glad my wife was driving me home.
